I am just so proud of and happy about how these art pieces turned out.
The Tale of Three Trees was an amazing story that I had never heard before. It was recommended to me by one of my best friends and fellow teachers.
I read the Tale to the students and then we discussed the moral of the story. Each tree, quoted above, had their dream outcome when the day came that they would be chopped down.
One wanted to be a treasure chest filled with gold that held the most previous items. In the end, he became the manger that Jesus laid in after he was born.
One wanted to be a mighty ship that carried the Kings and Queens across oceans. In the end, be became a small boat that Jesus helped get through a heavy storm.
One wanted to be the tallest tree in all of the forest at the top of the mountain, so that whenever people looked at it, they would look up to the sky and think of God. In the end, he ended up being the cross that Jesus was crucified on.
Now, although it may appear as though they did not get what they dreamt about, it is important to shift our perspective and see that God has a plan for all of us. In the end, the first tree held THE most previous item, the second tree DID help THE King across the waters and the last tree DID become the tallest on the top of the mountain and everyone remembers and thinks of God when they look at it.
We have to remember, especially around important events like Easter/Jesus’ Resurrection, that God has a plan for each of us and that we have to trust in his plan.
The top of their artwork is the three trees and the quotes of what they wanted to be; the bottom is what they ended up becoming.
They did such a good job, especially with their choices of colours for their backgrounds. I’m so proud.
